Title: Azure DevOps Engineer
Location: Allentown, PA (3 days per week onsite)
Contract: 12 months (ability to extend)
Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Azure DevOps Engineer to join a high-performing product team focused on delivering seamless omnichannel experiences for customers and contact center agents. This role is integral to the organization’s digital transformation, supporting modernized customer-facing platforms such as web and IVR systems, primarily hosted in Azure and integrated with legacy on-premise systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Tech Leads and development teams to identify process bottlenecks and implement DevOps improvements
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure with a focus on automation and operational excellence
- Manage infrastructure-as-code deployments using tools like Terraform and Ansible across Azure and hybrid environments
- Support continuous integration and delivery pipelines, leveraging tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), Jenkins, and SonarQube
- Monitor system performance with effective observability, logging, metrics, and alerting tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deployments and improve developer experience
- Drive improvements in release processes, deployment automation, and infrastructure provisioning
- Ensure traceability and maintainability of all code and infrastructure components
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Perl, PowerShell, Maven, Ant)
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud infrastructure; AWS knowledge is a plus
- Proficiency with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Hudson, SonarQube)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and align teams on solutions
- Adaptable and eager to learn new technologies and methodologies
- Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments; SRE or cross-functional DevOps experience preferred
