Our Cashier is responsible for receiving and processing payment for services rendered or for parts and materials purchased. The Cashier records the payment amount and closes repair orders in our computer system, The Cashier must operate specific software programs to keep track of customer data such as service history, parts purchased, and contact information. He/She may need to calculate material charges, and repairs charges, and will need to understand various types of warranties when needed. The ideal cashier candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of one year of money-handling experience, a pleasant and helpful demeanor with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. The following is a representative list of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position:
- Greet customers in a friendly and appreciative fashion - Answer telephone inquiries and route calls quickly and efficiently - Receive and process payment for products and services using electronic point-of-sale processing equipment - Process credit and debit transactions, checks, and other forms of payment - Operate system software to accurately maintain customer data - Encourage repeat business by acknowledging the customer's purchase with gratitude
