Department: Shipping
Job Title: Forklift Operator - Cooler/Dock 2nd Shift

Job Summary: This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating stand-up counter balance forklifts and stand-up deep reach forklifts while performing all functions associated with the warehouse.

Essential Job Functions/Duties:

• Abide by all safety protocols to assure a safe workplace
• Perform all functions related to receiving and putting away inbound freight by properly following established SOPs
• Perform all functions related to picking and shipping outbound freight by properly following established SOPs
• Maintain the warehouse and equipment in a manner that abides by all USDA requirements
• Maintain an accurate warehouse inventory by following all established SOPs
• Perform necessary inventory functions when required

Physical/Mental Requirements

• Must be able to stand/walk 100% of the work day.
• Gripping and repetitive use of hands.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb steps.
• Must be comfortable working in organic conditions.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds repetitively
• Ability to work at heights when necessary

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to count and perform basic math
• Ability to work at frozen temperatures for extended periods of time with company provided PPE
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory records and proper handling of goods
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends and nights.
• Ability use scanning devices for shipping, receiving and inventory functions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years operating stand-up counter balance forklifts and stand-up deep reach forklifts in a cold storage or large-scale distribution center.
