Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
• Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
• Providing Medication Reminders to clients to ensure adherence to medication schedules.
• Reporting any changes in health status to the supervising nurse or Office team to contact the client's healthcare provider.
• Assist clients with mobility and physical activities, including ambulation assistance, and stand & pivot transfers when necessary.
• Maintain client confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations and best practices in patient privacy.
• Document care provided and any observations regarding the client's condition or needs accurately.
• Collaborate with the Visiting Angels office staff, family members and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

Requirements:

• Valid Drivers License (No Learner's Permits).
• Reliable Source of Transportation. We do provide transportation services to our clients and you may need to utilize your vehicle if your client does not have one.
• Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background in the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration (ACHA) clearing house.
• Be available to work rotating weekends.
• Previous experience in home community care or caregiving is preferred. However, training will be provided to the right candidate.
• Familiarity with dementia care techniques and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus. However, training will be provided to the right candidate.
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs for clients safely and assist with mobility as required.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
• Basic skills in meal preparation that align with nutritional guidelines for clients.
• Certification in BLS CPR/First Aid is preferred but not mandatory at hiring; Training and Certification will be provided for free to the right candidate. Willingness to obtain certification is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and empathy are essential for building trusting relationships with clients.
