Job Title: Non-CDL Driver
Department: Operations
Reports To: Route Supervisor / Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Non-CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a company vehicle to collect, transport, and dispose of residential, commercial, or industrial waste. This role requires adherence to safety standards, excellent customer service, and reliable attendance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company vehicle (non-CDL required) to service assigned routes for waste collection.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Follow daily route sheets and schedules as directed by dispatch or supervisor.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle; report maintenance or safety issues immediately.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized vehicle and work area.
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers.
- Comply with all DOT, OSHA, and company safety regulations and procedures.
- Assist helpers or laborers when needed to ensure timely service.
- Complete required paperwork and route logs accurately and on time.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate light to medium-duty trucks safely.
- Previous driving or waste industry experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day.
- Must be able to work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
Work Environment
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to loud noises, odors, and waste materials.
- Frequent climbing in and out of vehicle.
