Job Description
Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
We are seeking a dedicated Substitute Paraprofessional to support classroom instruction in schools serving students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. This role involves stepping in when regular paraprofessionals are unavailable, helping maintain a productive, safe, and engaging learning environment throughout the day.
Responsibilities / Duties:
Supervise small groups of students individually or in teams, providing instructional support under teacher direction.
Implement lesson plans and assist students with assigned work, adapting to different subjects and gradelevels as needed.
Support classroom management, monitor student behavior, and promote respectful interactions.
Assist with transitions between activities, help students access materials, follow routines, and stay on task.
Collaborate with lead teacher to reinforce learning objectives and provide feedback on student progress or concerns.
Perform additional duties such as monitoring lunch, recess, arrival or dismissal times when required.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Postsecondary coursework in education or related field preferred.
Prior experience working in educational settings or with children in groups is strongly preferred.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing classroom dynamics and follow established procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm and patient demeanour.
Must complete state-issued fingerprint background clearance in accordance with Washington requirements.
Reliable transportation, flexibility to cover varying assignments, and willingness to follow district dress code and policy.
