\n\nJob Description\n

The Advanced Care Unit (Stepdown) is a specialized unit focused on managing stroke, trauma, and vascular patients. Nurses in this unit are responsible for providing high acuity care to a mix of diagnoses including femoral pops, carotids, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and post-catheterization patients, ensuring quality patient outcomes.

\n\nResponsibilities\n

\n
• Provide nursing care to patients with stepdown acuity, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications.
\n
• Read and interpret cardiac strips to ensure timely intervention.
\n
• Titrate intravenous drips per physician’s orders (e.g., Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin).
\n
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient care and recovery.
\n
• Support the Charge Nurse and assist with patient assignments as needed.
\n

\n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n

\n
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
\n
• Must have experience in a stepdown or similar acute care environment.
\n
• Ability to read cardiac strips and understand titratable medication protocols is essential.
\n
